Updated: Apr 8

Ignited Woman Magazine’s Youth Month 2025 Feature

June marks Youth Month in South Africa—a time to celebrate the courage, creativity, and leadership of young people across the nation. At Ignited Woman, we are proud to spotlight twelve extraordinary young women. These women embody an innovative spirit and a commitment to change, inspiring a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.

From health and beauty to tech, finance, and the creative industries, these women are breaking barriers. They set bold examples for others to follow. Here’s a closer look at their journeys and the impact they are making.

Celebrating Innovation in Beauty

Boitumelo’s Boity’s Eternal Beauty is more than a beauty clinic. It’s a sanctuary for self-love and confidence-building. With personalized skincare treatments, her clinic empowers both men and women. They learn to embrace their natural beauty and overcome insecurities.

Inspired by indigenous healing traditions, Mpho co-founded Kgopelo, an eco-luxury skincare brand with her late sister. The brand’s sustainable and effective products have made a significant mark in South Africa’s beauty industry. It marries cultural heritage with modern wellness, creating a beautiful fusion.

Cherith’s Pink Cinnamon skincare range focuses on natural ingredients and clean beauty principles. Her mission is to empower women through self-care routines. These routines nourish the skin and uplift the spirit, celebrating beauty in its purest form.

Building Community through Empowerment

Mpoomy’s journey is remarkable. She transitioned from running a cleaning business to owning one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant nail bars. Her Aneno Nail & Coffee Bar blends beauty and community, employing young women and fostering entrepreneurship. Mpoomy also established Wisdom & Wellness, a movement promoting holistic health through workshops and inspiring conversations.

At the creative helm of Ignited Woman, Bianca crafts powerful narratives. She elevates youth voices and ensures that the magazine’s stories resonate authentically with young South African women. Every word inspires empowerment and advocacy.

Addressing Health Needs

Sebabatso, a registered nurse and social entrepreneur from the Free State, founded Black Women Arise. This organization addresses critical gaps in women’s reproductive health. Through mobile cervical cancer screenings and community workshops, she destigmatizes sexual health in rural areas. Her impactful work has garnered multiple awards and continues to train future midwives.

Mukondi is a powerhouse in South Africa’s advertising landscape. She co-founded Think Creative Africa, an award-winning marketing agency. Her innovative campaigns and mentorship for young creatives especially shine. She also co-created the Milq wearable breast pump, combining creativity with social impact.

Trailblazing Paths

Captain Londy stands out as Africa’s first female dredge master. She is a true trailblazer in the maritime sector. Through WoMaritime Experts and her Global Maritime Youth initiative, she advocates for gender diversity and youth empowerment in ocean economies. Her efforts inspire countless young women to navigate new horizons.

Keketso leads KIM Global Capital Group, an investment firm that supports SMEs across Southern Africa. She fiercely advocates for youth economic empowerment. Her leadership and mentorship are celebrated in the finance sector, pushing for greater female representation.

Empowering Entrepreneurship

Angie’s InaBold Enterprises specializes in branding and marketing for women-led startups. Through workshops, digital strategies, and pro bono initiatives, she empowers entrepreneurs. Her goal is to help them build bold, impactful brands and scale their businesses sustainably.

Buyi heads Leratadima Marketing, a leading 100% black-owned agency. She champions authentic South African storytelling. Under her leadership, campaigns promote local brands and advance inclusivity within the industry.

Lastly, Kgahlego’s Interior Bubble creates dynamic, sustainable interiors. Her designs reflect the client’s personality and lifestyle. By making stylish, eco-conscious living spaces accessible, she blends creativity with responsibility.

Igniting the Future

These twelve young women represent the vibrant future of South Africa. They are leaders who embody innovation, resilience, and purpose. At Ignited Woman, we celebrate their stories. We invite young women everywhere to be inspired, to lead boldly, and to ignite their own journeys.

Happy Youth Month!

American novelist Louisa May Alcott said it best when she said “Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.”
